Recruitment Process

 Emergency Communications Call taker Recruitment

New Recruitment Opens October 10, 2016 - October 24, 2016 

There will be 2 recruitments opening during this time.  One is for an Emergency Communications Call taker Trainee & the other is for an Emergency Communications Lateral Police Dispatcher.  The Call taker Trainee position is an entry level position (no experience necessary). The Lateral Police Dispatcher position must currently hold, or have held State of Oregon certification (or equivalent certification from another state) within the last year.

To qualify, all applicants must:

  •  Possess a high school diploma or equivalent 
  •  Be 18 years old at time of hire 

All applicants must submit:

  • Proof of net typing speed - 40 wpm (online typing test required)
  • Complete Application form (including proof of diploma or equivalent)
  • Complete Supplemental Questions  

Upon passing completed application form, supplemental questions, and typing speed, your name will be placed on an equally ranked eligible list. 

 Candidates placed on the eligible list will be invited to a Pass/Fail CritiCall Test, a Pass/Fail Oral Interview and a Pass/Fail Background Investigation.  A conditional offer of employment is subject to the results of a background investigation, psychological assessment, a drug screen, and a vision/hearing test.
