Due to citywide budget cuts the Bureau of Environmental Services is no longer able to support the after hours tree violation hotline. If you suspect a tree cutting violation is taking place during non-standard business hours between 5 PM – 7 AM Monday through Friday and all hours on Saturday and Sunday, document the activity and report the complaint to one of the city departments listed below. Violations will be received the next business day and, if verified, will receive enforcement action including potential civil penalties. Suspected tree violations must be reported as follows:
Suspected tree violations on private property
BDS Enforcement Code Complaint Line (503) 823-2633
Suspected tree violations in the public right-of-way or heritage tree
Urban Forestry (503) 823-4489.
For tree emergencies on publicly owned land or right-of-way within the City of Portland, call Urban Forestry at (503) 823-4489.
