Environmental Services is designing a project to repair or replace deteriorating sewer pipes at several locations in the Sellwood-Moreland area. This work is part of a citywide program to replace aging sewer pipes. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2014.

Project Design

The project team has started survey work and sewer pipe inspections as part of the design process. You may notice work crews in the area. The project team will use the survey information to determine the best construction techniques to complete the work while minimizing impacts to the public. Open trench construction and pipe lining are both possible techniques.

In the coming months, city staff will communicate with residents and businesses that may be directly affected by the sewer repairs. Project engineers and city staff are in the process of identifying all sewer lines to be repaired or replaced in the project area.

Please be aware that some drilling in the area may be necessary during this information gathering process.
