Tune into Oregon Public Broadcasting next week to see how Portland’s innovative approach to water management is influencing major cities across the country.

Portland is highlighted in a national documentary about water infrastructure and Dean Marriott, the director of the Bureau of Environmental Services, is a featured expert in the 60-minute program. Filmmakers at Penn State Public Media produced the interactive documentary project that explores how cities across the country are adopting innovative green solutions for their water blues. “Water Blues, Green Solutions” takes the viewer on a journey to Philadelphia, Portland, San Antonio and the Bronx and shows communities using green infrastructure – land conservation, green roofs, rain gardens, porous surfaces and other methods – to remedy the challenges of flooding, pollution and scarcity.

“Water Blues, Green Solutions” airs Monday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. on KOPB-TV and KTVR-TV. You can view the film's trailer below, and make sure to visit the Water Blues website which is chock full of clips, photos, and videos of Portland and the other cities examined in the film.
