Many people do not bike to work because they are not familiar with the best route or how to effectively maneuver in traffic. Others just need to get the old bike rolling. 

 

Eastside Hub residents joined some experienced commuters for guided bike rides to work this summer. There had a chance to ask questions about the best route, riding techniques, and anything else related to commuting by bike. Rides took place the first Tuesday of the month from July through September. 

 

Commuters and ride leaders met at Mt Tabor Middle School and the Franklin High School at 7:00 am and 8:00 am. Rides headed downtown & to the Lloyd District. The commutes tookno longer than 45 minutes. An extra event in late August was included to help prepare area residents for the September Bicycle Transportation Alliance Annual Bike Commute Challenge.
