Fall season of Bike Safety Education started on September 14th. We will be in 40 schools in Portland this year so we will really need a lot of volunteer help to make sure the kids stay safe and have fun on bikes.
Volunteers ride with elementary school youth as chaperones on practice rides in neighborhoods around the schools. On-the-job training is provided.
If you'd like to volunteer, plan to attend the Bike Safety Education orientation and organizing party on September 23. Pizza and soda provided.
When: Wednesday September 23, 5:30 - 7:00pm
Where: BTA Office, 233 NW 5th Ave (between Davis and Everett in Old Town)
What: Pizza and soda from 5:30 to 6:00, orientation from 6:00 to 7:00. Meet the other BSE Community Ride volunteers, and get a briefing from Super Star BSE Instructor Joel Holly. We will have the full fall season calendar displayed so you can sign up for Community Rides that evening.
RSVP: Please let us know if you plan to attend so we get enough pizza and soda. RSVP to Tom Rousculp at 503-226-0676 x20 or firstname.lastname@example.org
