Portland Safe Routes to Schools - How to Report a School Safety Problem

To help guide the public to real solutions to traffic safety problems, the Portland Office of Transportation created a Transportation Safety and Neighborhood Livability Hot Line, 823-SAFE (503-823-7233).

Requests are phoned in or emailed Safe@portlandoregon.gov. Calls are generally answered within one working day, Monday through Friday. Emails are generally responded to within one week.

This line is the best way to report safety problems and concerns at your school.

Note that calls and requests from school principals are prioritized, so try checking in with your school principal to see if you share similar concerns about school traffic safety before submitting your request.
