Report to City Council

On Wednesday, May 5th staff from the Bureau of Transportation and our many partners reported to City Council. We were there to share the outcomes of the recent Transportation Safety Summit and the challenges and successes of our safety programs, including Safe Routes to School (Bike Boulevards, High Crash Corridors, and pedestrian safety improvements were also discussed).

It is always exciting to have the opportunity to share our work with our City's elected leaders and Safe Routes was particularly fortunate to have two of our excellent partners to testify. Laurie Paulsen, a parent of two students at Beach Elementary and Olivia Quiroz, one of our partners from Multnomah County Health Department spoke about Safe Routes, its importance, and its impact.
