Portland Archives & Records Center is the place to direct your research questions, records retrieval requests and other general questions. 


Diana Banning, City Archivist, 503.865.4110

Manages the Archives and Records Management division of the City Auditor, provides city-wide leadership on archives and records management issues, and oversees the Portland Archives and Records Center.

Gwen Amsbury, Archives and Records Specialist, 503.865.4105

Responsibilities include managing incoming records for storage, records re-filing, and destructions, authorizing records transfers for storage and providing records to bureaus.

Brian Brown, Business Systems Analyst, 503.865.4108

Primary responsibility is to administer the City’s Digital Records and Archives system (HPRM/TRIM) and provide related support, training, and implementation services.

Devin Busby, Archives and Records Specialist, 503.865.4104

Responsibilities include managing incoming records for storage, records re-filing, and destructions, authorizing records transfers for storage and providing records to bureaus.

Mary Hansen, Assistant Archivist, 503.865.4103

Responsibilities include assisting bureaus and the public with their research needs and maintaining the PARC’s website and social media efforts.

Brian Johnson, Assistant Archivist, 503.865.4102

Responsibilities include assisting bureaus and the public with their research needs, archival processing and preservation, supervising student and part-time workers.

Max Johnson, Records Management Analyst, 503.865.4107

Responsibilities include working with bureaus to create the City record retention schedules; helping employees understand how public records requirements, City policies and general records management principles can be applied to their paper and electronic records and e-mail; helping bureaus implement the HPRM/TRIM system.
