5006-01   City Map Books

Series is used to locate hydrants and street addresses when responding to an emergency call. Records are copies of maps that locate streets, hydrants, and address. Record includes copies of map grids, page indexes, and maps from other jurisdictions.

5006-02   Reference Wall Maps

Series is used to supply stations with wall maps that are used for quick reference. The wall maps are used by rig drivers to locate general location of emergency response. Records are large copies of the maps that included information on streets, addresses and hydrants. Maps differ slightly from map books in that reference maps may cover the area of several pages.

5006-03   First Response Book

Series is used to document the fire management area for a particular fire company. Record contains street maps of the fire management agency identifying location of hydrants and landmarks of the fire management area.

5006-04   Station Location Records

Series is a databank used to determine placement of station houses, apparatus, and equipment. Series is used as a logistical tool to ensure best emergency response. Records are a computer database that contain information about station houses, address, ranges, intersections, traffic patterns and information, roads, boundaries, census material, maps, etc. Records include mapping program and tools (currently FLAME) and response time models which are generated from the computer.

5006-05   800 MHz (Megahertz) Radio System Records

Series is used to document the conversion to the 800 MHz radio system. Series includes inventory of radios, templates, talk groups, etc.

Retention: Life of equipment or system.
