1000-01 POLICY AND HISTORICAL RECORDS
Series documents the records that state or form the basis of policy, set precedents or record historic events related to the organization or operation of the city. Records include significant correspondence, memoranda, notes, annual reports, studies, policies, procedures and bureau directives. Series also includes e-mail messages and attachments of a policy nature. Correspondence, including e-mail, of elected officials and bureau directors often falls under this category.

RETENTION: Permanent. Send 1 copy of all reports, studies, publications and other published documents to the City Archives per City Code 3.76.050 (G).
1000-13 INFORMATION REQUESTS AND COMPLAINTS (NOTE: this record series has been renumbered to ADM-0460)
Records document requests or complaints concerning a variety of City responsibilities. Information often includes name and contact information of person making request or complaint, narration of request or complaint, name of person responding to request or complaint, dates of related activities, and other data. Note: some complaints may become part of a bureau-specific case file and be subject to a longer retention period.
