Biography:
Shelly manages fundraising for Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R), and has led that work since 2014. PP&R’s development work focuses on expanding the collaborative efforts of PP&R, its partners, and other community based groups to increase equitable access to the parks.  

Shelly began her career as a grants administrator at the City of Savannah,managing 26 performance based contracts valued at $1 million budget, and was instrumental in creating the operational tools and the vision that produced a strong portfolio of arts programs that supported strategic goals for economic and community development. Since joinging the employ,  She has contributed her fundraising and managerial expertise on several non-profit/advisory boards, including Georgia Council for the Arts and United Way of Savannah.

In addition to securing a MPA, Shelly participated in a fellowship, with the Lumina Foundation, aimed at deepening a professionals understanding of change management, facilitation, and process building in organizational environments.

Her career is connected by a commitment to enfolding the aspirations and the skills of groups and individuals into a shared vision for community.

Passion(s)/Other:
I'm a pretty mean mah jong player, a burgeoning yogi, an avid lover of music (of all types and stripes), and consumer of all things art related, particularly the written word.

And because I came from the South, I also consider it my business that tell stories that make folks connect and dissolve into laughter.
