The City of Portland, Bureau of Development Services is offering its Fall 2013 Landlord Training Program: Keeping Rental Property Safe and Free of Illegal Activity. This session offers four classes spread through November and December, in different Portland neighborhood venues.
The Information Technology Advancement Project (ITAP) is the City’s technology initiative to move the City's development review process to a paperless system. The paperless process will allow online access to the City bureaus' permitting and case services.
Over the last year, a number of City Bureaus have transitioned their websites over to the new PortlandRefresh/portlandoregon.gov web layout. BDS made the conversion to the new layout on Tuesday, October 8, 2013.
BDS is continuing work on its budget request for Fiscal Year 2014-15 (July 2014 – June 2015). All City bureaus will be required to submit their budget requests by February 3, 2014.
Commissioner Amanda Fritz visited the September DRAC meeting and held an open discussion with DRAC members regarding BDS’s mission, vision, and finances. The meeting also included a discussion of BDS’s budget planning for the next fiscal year (FY 2014-15) and a review of Systems Development Charge (SDC) fee data from Portland and other jurisdictions.
Each year, during the holiday season and again during the Rose Festival activities,Portland's Bureau of Transportation limits routine work that requires the closing of parking spaces, sidewalks, travel lanes and streets to accommodate increased activity in the city’s major retail districts.
As we head into the rainy season, ground-disturbing work on all properties located in the Balch Creek and Forest Park Subdistricts of the Northwest Hills Plan District must end. Exposed earth must be covered and stabilized by October 1st.
