  • 2013-2014 Landlord Training Program Recap

    The 2013-2014 series of the City of Portland’s Landlord Training Program marks the fifteenth training series coordinated by the City of Portland, Bureau of Development Services, Neighborhood Inspections Team.

  • City Reducing Prescriptive Residential Solar Permit Fees

    Effective immediately, the City of Portland's Bureau of Development Services will be reducing the fees for Prescriptive Residential Solar Permits from $554 to $263, a 52% fee reduction.

  • ITAP Updates

    The ITAP Team continues to make progress developing specifications for configuring the future base permitting software (Infor Public Sector, or IPS) according to the workflows of individual permit types, such as trade permits, land use reviews, etc.

  • Budget & Financial Plan Update

    Mayor Hales’ FY 2014-15 Proposed Budget was released May 1st and was approved by the full City Council (with some changes) on May 28, 2014.

    Over the last several years, BDS has undergone significant organizational changes as a result of the dramatic swings in the national and local economy.

  • Zoning Code Changes July 11, 2014

    Amendments to the Portland Zoning Code took effect on July 11, 2014. The Regulatory Improvement Code Amendment Package 6 (RICAP 6) includes more than 30 Zoning Code amendments and significant changes to four chapters.

    BDS is now moving forward with implementation of a voluntary demolition notification process based on recommendations from the DRAC.
