When you pick up your building permit, you will receive an orange (residential) or yellow (commercial) inspection card listing all of the inspections you might need during construction.
You will need to call the Bureau of Development Services automated inspection request line (IVR line) to request the required inspections at different phases of construction on your project.
Each permit is assigned a unique IVR number written on your orange or yellow card). When calling for an inspection, you will use the IVR number as your identification so the inspectors know what permit they are inspecting.
When all of your inspections are approved, you need to call for a “999 Final” inspection. Once your project receives this final inspection and approval, your project is complete.
