BDS participates in the Blazers Green Kick Off event

Green Team - Blazers Game 2On April 3, 2008, staff from BDS Green Team participated in the Blazers vs Houston "Green Kick Off" event by setting up a Green display and distributing sustainability materials to the Blazer fans at a booth at the north entrance of the Rose Garden before the game and at half time.

"The Blazer organization's goal is to eventually become the greenest, most sustainable sporting facility in the world", says Blazer's Outreach Coordinator, Ian Jaquiss.  In addition to achieving their goal they want to start spreading the sustainability message to their fans.

Green Team - Blazers Game 2BDS provided the organization with the following sustainability slogan to announce at the game "The Bureau of Development Services encourages you to reduce your use".  We also came up with a "Ten Things to do to Live Green in Portland" 4 x 6 card and distributed materials by the Office of Sustainability on Roll Carts and an easy steps to sustainability brochure.

Green Team - Blazers Game 3The bureau's Green Team will be following up with simple green tips that the Blazer organization can practice and with a resource list that they can use to address their sustainability questions.  Thank you to Nan Stark, Michelle Seward and Chris Corr for doing a great job with coming up with the slogan, materials and for setting up and working the booth.
