Each year, the Office of Sustainable Development presents the BEST (Businesses for an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow) Awards, recognizing local businesses for their commitments to sustainability.
The Best Awards were held on April 17th for more than 500 attendees. BDS Director Paul L. Scarlett and 7 BDS staff attended the event to acknowledge winners in the areas of BEST Practices for Sustainability, Sustainable Products or Services, Green Building and Sustainable Food Systems.
This year, the Bureau of Development Services contributed to the 16th annual Best Awards by providing the expertise of Anne Hill (Best Practices) and Debbie Cleek (Green Building) who both served on the initial screening committee. Permitting Services Division Manager Andy Peterson served on the Judges Panel.
