On August 13, 2008, Information Technology and Administrative Services hosted a fabulous “Welcome to the 3rd Floor” Open House to invite bureau staff to see their new area and to mingle with each other.
This event was a great team building event that coincidentally came on the heels of the quarterly bureau-wide “Chat with the Director” meeting held by Director Paul Scarlett. In this meeting he emphasized the importance of continuing to build relationships with our internal customers and our external customers.
The Information Technology staff showed off their ability to use computer technology in a fun way for staff to enjoy, while reading short bio’s on each of the staff. It was also an opportunity for staff to ask questions about the services IT and Administrative Services provide and the role they each play in the success of the bureau.
As a staff member, I felt it was a great and exciting way to engage staff and to introduce those of us who may not have known each other. Interacting successfully with staff definitely contributes to positive interaction to our external customers, says Outreach Program Coordinator Tiffani Penson.
Kudos to these sections for inviting staff into your world. This is the type of outreach the bureau values greatly.
