Oregon Health & Science University’s Facilities Manager Tony Russell and Michael Brooks hosted the BDS summer interns on a tour of the TRAM and the OHSU Facility command center.
The field trip consisted of a tour of the TRAM control room where the students had a chance to see how the TRAM operates. TRAM tour guide, Michael Brooks provided the students with numerous facts that the students found impressive like:
- Tram was designed by a woman
- It holds 79 people
- It cost $58 million
- It originated in Switzerland
We ended the tour in Mr. Russell’s office and Facility Command Center where he walked us through his job duties and responsibilities which included responding to building emergencies and providing emergency response teams with access to the building safety mechanisms.
On behalf of Bureau of Development Services and the Summer Interns, we would like to thank OHSU staff Mr. Russell and Mr. Brooks for treating us to an amazing tour and wonderful view of the city.
