Bureau of Development Services Director, Paul Scarlett, was put "behind bars" on November 6th to support of the Southwest Portland Muscular Dystrophy Association. This fun and exciting fundraiser was held to help send children with muscular dystrophy to summer camp, where transformations happen and relationships are built.
The Director joined other corporate executives to raise money by calling their contacts to donate "bail money" in order to get them out of jail. They were locked up at Aquariva Restaurant where they were fed the MDS's version of bread and water. For every $800.00 dollars donated, a child will be able to go to camp this summer. In addition to it being a great cause it was also a time for fun, networking and to promote your business.
Our Director's participation was a great opportunity to highlight the wide and diverse variety of services we offer at the Bureau of Development Services and our commitment to supporting our community. "It was a fun, interesting and a great way to engage businesses and communities to work as a group toward an important cause. I look forward to participating next year," says Paul Scarlett.
