(Portland, OR) The Bureau of Development Services announced today that they are changing the hours of operation for the Development Services Center effective March 2, 2009.

Until recently, the Bureau of Development Services had offered Permit Night on Thursday nights to assist customers with permit inquiries and issuance. After experiencing a sharp decline in workload and revenues over the past several months and decrease in customers utilizing this service, the Bureau opted to suspend Permit Night effective February 5, 2009 and will extend its regular business hours from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

"In an effort to continue offering comprehensive permitting services to our valued customers in a cost-effective manner, the Bureau will extend it's regular business hours and suspend offering Permit Night," said Andy Peterson, Development Services Division Manager.

Effective March 2, 2009, the Development Services Center will operate on the following schedule:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 7:30am to 4:00pm

Tuesday - 7:30am to 3:00pm

The Bureau of Development Services, Development Services Center is located at 1900 SW 4th Avenue, First Floor. The center provides customers with all the expertise needed to complete Portland's permitting processes quickly and efficiently.
