The IT Advancement Project will implement a new information technology system for the City’s development review functions that will move BDS and its inter-agency partners’ operations to a web-based, paperless permit/case management process allowing complete, online access to the permitting and case management, review, and inspection services that the City provides.
These guiding principles will be used to inform decision making on issue resolution and proposed changes to processes.
- Accountability – processes follow prescribed city policies, mandates, and code requirements (local, regional, federal).
- Transparency – information is easily available to external and internal customers.
- Consistency – process is predictable and similar across like processes.
- Simplicity - ease of use for both external and internal customers; process is understandable; workflow process eliminates need for staff work-arounds.
