At its May meeting, the DRAC welcomed new member Claire Carder, who is representing Neighborhood Coalition Land Use Committees. BDS is currently reviewing applications that have been received for the remaining vacant DRAC position, representing Low-Income Housing Developers.

DRAC MeetingIn May, the DRAC also reviewed and endorsed BDS’s proposed fee changes for fiscal year 2013-14, and heard budget and fee updates from the Bureaus of Environmental Services, Water, and Transportation.

In June, DRAC members received workload and staffing updates from BDS division managers. DRAC members spent considerable time reviewing and updating the group’s Work Plan for 2013-14. The Work Plan outlines the specific issues and areas the DRAC plans to work on in the coming year.

DRAC members agreed to cancel the July meeting. However, since that time a special DRAC meeting was called on July 15th to review a list of Regulatory Improvement Code Amendment Projects. The August DRAC meeting is cancelled and the next DRAC meeting will be on Thursday, September 19, 2013.

DRAC Happenings highlights the activities of the City’s Development Review Advisory Committee (DRAC). The DRAC is the City’s primary advisory body regarding development review. The DRAC’s 17 members represent groups with interests in the outcome of policies, budgets, regulations, and procedures that affect development review processes.

The purpose of the DRAC is to foster a timely, predictable and accountable development review process that implements the City's goals for land use, transportation, housing, economic development, neighborhood livability and the environment. The DRAC advocates for and supports consistent and fair application and implementation of regulations.
