The Community Watershed Stewardship Program (CWSP) supports Portlanders who want to improve the health of Portland watersheds. CWSP is a partnership between Portland’s Environmental Services and Portland State University.
CWSP provides up to $10,000 for projects such as:
In addition, CWSP provides native plants mini-grants of up to $500. Mini-grants are available to both community groups and some private landowners throughout the year.
Since 1999, CWSP has granted nearly $1 million to 213 projects. As of mid-2012:
CWSP seeks to award grants in a manner that advances the city’s established equity goals, with regard to where projects are carried out and who they involve and benefit. We encourage projects that expand and diversify leadership and participation in watershed stewardship.
If you have questions about the grant program, past projects, or have an idea for a project of your own, contact the Stewardship Coordinators, Shannon Jamison at 503-823-7917 or Cameron Herrington at 503-823-5794
