The Typical Details included in Appendix G of the 2008 Stormwater Management Manual are provided to the development community for projects that require stormwater management on private property and in the public right of way. While they do not address every circumstance or concern, they represent the current, collective knowledge of city staff who design, review, construct or maintain these facilities, as well as the adjacent infrastructure.

The design and sizing of vegetated stormwater facilities is an evolving discipline. The Typical Details include both design guidance and detailed specifications. They provide the minimum standards for those who design, review and construct stormwater facilities. They are not a substitute for the professional knowledge and experience and must be modified to best accommodate the specific site and project circumstances.
