Rose City Sewer Project

The Rose City Sewer Project will repair deteriorating sewer pipes in eight separate work sites in northeast, southeast, and southwest Portland. It is one of a series of projects during the next three to five years to replace or repair aging sewer pipes that have reached the end of service and are in poor condition. The work will increase system capacity and improve reliability.

The city's contractors will complete most of the work using open trench construction. Construction impacts to the community will include noise, vibration, dust, temporary parking loss, traffic delays, and increased traffic on nearby streets. Construction started in fall 2012 and will finish in fall 2013.

There will not be construction in all areas at the same time.

A few properties in the project area share a connection to the public sewer with a neighboring property. This type of connection does not conform with current city code. The project will provide new branch connections for these properties.

Go to the nonconforming sewer connection page for more information.
