Laboratory Services 

Lab chemists and technicians provide analytical services for a wide variety of environmental samples. Their work helps Environmental Services meet federal, state and local regulatory requirements.  Lab services include:

1. Analysis of industrial waste samples to ensure compliance with discharge permits and to help industries reduce pollution
2. Analysis of stormwater samples to help Environmental Services design facilities to remove pollutants from stormwater runoff
3. Analysis of water samples from Portland rivers and streams to monitor water quality and stream health
4. Analysis of soil excavated during sewer repair and construction projects to determine if it is hazardous or safe to use as fill
