NE Klickitat Neighborhood Greenway

Klicitat project 1 mapStormwater runoff can impact water quality in rivers and streams.Portland uses green streets, ecoroofs, trees and other green infrastructure to increase sewer system efficiency, and protect water quality, public health, and the environment. Green infrastructure keeps stormwater out of the sewer system, filters pollutants, provides habitat and increases neighborhood green space for healthier watersheds.

Environmental Services began installing sewers on NE Klickitat Street in January 2013. The city's contractor completed sewer construction in March 2013 and began construction on 26 green street stormwater facilities on NE Klickitat, Morris and Siskiyou streets between N Vancouver Avenue and NE Sandy Boulevard. The project includes removing the traffic island at 7th and Morris, and upgrading street corners to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
