Sellwood Wet Weather Pump Station

Sellwood CSO Pump StationThe Sellwood Wet Weather Pump Station is part of Portland's combined sewer overflow (CSO) control program, which the city completed in December 2011.

The pump station controls a CSO outfall on the Willamette River at the foot of SE Harney Street, which connects to the Lents trunk sewer that serves a large area of southeast Portland. The city activated the Sellwood pump station in December 2011.

In May 2012, Environmental Services completed work on the facility's automated systems, landscaping around the building, and an ecoroof on the pump station roof to manage stormwater runoff from the site.

This project included converting the existing Lents trunk Sewer under SE Harney Street to a combined sewage storage pipe. During wet weather, the facility pumps combined sewage out of the pipe to a gravity sewer at SE 11th and Umatilla, which conveys wastewater to Portland's sewage treatment plant in north Portland.
