Environmental Services is working on a project to repair deteriorating sewer pipes in the Vernon, Sabin, and Alameda neighborhoods. Sewers in these neighborhoods are between 90 to 100 years old.

This project will repair sewers in the public right-of-way and lateral pipes that connect individual properties to the public sewer mostly in areas north of Alameda Ridge (see map below). The city's contractor is using both open trench construction and cured-in-place pipe lining to repair sewers.

VSA North Schedule

• Work will continue for one year on the VSA North project.
• Construction hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The contractor may work the same hours on Saturday if needed.
• Construction hours on NE Killingsworth, NE Prescott and NE Alberta streets are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

What to Expect During Construction

• Construction will create noise, vibration and dust and disrupt normal neighborhood activity.
• Parking will be prohibited in the work zone.
• Traffic congestion in the area will increase and you may experience delays in getting to your destination.
• There may be periods of inactivity between construction phases.
• A city construction inspector will be on-site during work hours. If you have an immediate need during construction, the on-site inspector may be able to assist you.
