18TH ANNUAL COLUMBIA SLOUGH REGATTA

Sunday, July 29th

9387 N. Columbia Blvd

A paddle appropriate for all ages and experience levels

18th Annual Columbia Slough Regatta

Sunday, July 29

9:00-1:00 pm

at

St Johns Launch Site

9387 N. Columbia Blvd, Portland

(across from Chimney Park)

Bring your family and friends and the old canoe/kayak that needs an excuse to go somewhere with you. The launch site is in the Lower Columbia Slough several miles upstream from the confluence with the Willamette River. The area was frequented by sea lions this spring- in the summer it’s a lazy easy paddle. Metro staff will also offer 3 tours onto the nearly closed St Johns Landfill- which happens to have absolutely fabulous views of the lower Slough and Willamette-Columbia rivers, Smith Bybee wetlands, and the west hills.

Complimentary watercraft are already booked- Paddlers who bring their own craft are welcome and do not need reservations. All paddlers must wear life jackets. More details at www.columbiaslough.org

This is a family friendly event. $7.00 donation suggested.
