Construction Delayed Until 2016
Environmental Services will construct over 7,000 feet of eight-inch gravity sewer in Terwilliger Boulevard from SW Powers Court to Highway 43. The new sewer will connect to the 30-inch Tryon Interceptor sewer, which carries sewage to the Tryon Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Lake Oswego. This improvement to Portland’s wastewater collection system will help protect water quality, public health, and the environment.
After feedback from the public, neighbors, Multnomah County, City of Lake Oswego, many stakeholders, and extensive traffic management research, Environmental Services has decided to delay the project until the Sellwood Bridge Project, and other nearby projects, are complete. Construction of the SW Terwilliger Boulevard Sewer Project will not begin until summer 2016.
In the meantime, Environmental Services will continue to maintain the Powers Court Pump Station per the agreement with Dunthorpe-Riverdale Sewer District as needed.
