SOLVE is a long-standing Oregon non-profit with the mission of bringing Oregonians together to improve our environment and build a legacy of stewardship. Since 1969, hundreds of thousands of Oregon volunteers have stepped up to participate by joining a project or leading their own - and the results have been amazing! Taking part in protecting and enhancing Oregon is now part of the Oregon way of life and SOLVE invites you to join in the fun by signing up for a project or free training today!

SOLVE Programs

Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup - held each year in March

SOLVE It for Earth Day - held each year in April

Beach and Riverside Cleanup - held each year in September

Team Up for Watershed Health - year round projects in the portland Metro Area that restore healthy watersheds and sustainable communities. Activities include invasive removal, native tree and shrub plantings and plant maintenance and monitoring around local streams.

Oregon Adopt-A-River - Sign up to adopt your favorite stretch of river or waterway, and commit to holding two annual cleanups for 2 years, over 500 miles of Oregon waterways are covered so far!

Project Oregon - SOLVE's anytime, anywhere program! Projects happen across the state all year long and empower community members by letting them take the lead! Activities include invasive removal, planting native tree's and shrubs and litter cleanup.

Green Team - Learn more about how SOLVE works with k-12 students at close to 30 schools in the Portland Metro area during the school year with hands on learning projects.

Heartbleed Security Notice

A serious security vulnerability known as "Heartbleed" was recently discovered in OpenSSL, a popular software library commonly used by many websites on the internet to encrypt communication between a user's computer and a web server.

PortlandOregon.gov is NOT affected by this vulnerability as it does not use the OpenSSL software library. Please rest assured we are dedicated to protecting your security on this website.
