SW 86th Avenue Pump Station Project Construction Update: October 15, 2013
Environmental Services works to protect water quality and the environment through wastewater collection and treatment, sewer construction and maintenance, stormwater management, and stream and watershed restoration. When the SW 86th Avenue Pump Station is complete at the end of 2015, it will increase the capacity of the Fanno Basin Sewer System to ensure that the system can handle all wastewater flows during large rain storms. It will protect public health and watershed health, specifically Fanno Creek.
Construction crews continue to install the underground wet well and pump facility structure, which will take several months. Many concrete trucks will be entering and exiting the project site on Friday, October 18 or Saturday, October 19 to pour the first of four sections of the wet well structure. The concrete pour is a non-stop operation all day. Each section will be at least a month or two apart in order to let the concrete cure and to prepare for the next section.
No public inquiries at this time.
