Environmental Services and the Oregon Department of Transportation have completed constructing a series of terraced rain gardens at the intersection of Interstate 5, SW Barbur Boulevard and SW 26th Avenue.
The rain gardens collect stormwater runoff from these roads that used to drain directly to Tryon Creek and carried pollutants to the creek. The project included constructing a forebay to collect sediments and some pollutants before stormwater flows into the terraced rain gardens.
