Environmental Services has identified a segment of sewer pipe that is failing and needs immediate repair. Crews are currently working to repair the sewer line along SW Sweeney between SW Kelly and Corbett (see map).
Work Hours and Project Schedule
Crews are expected to pave the street on Thursday, July 30. They will then complete some final tasks and clean up the site and should be finished with the project by August 1.
Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic along SW Corbett during construction in the intersection. The repair work will close SW Sweeney to through traffic at SW Kelly but the contractor will maintain local access. Drivers should expect delays and take an alternate route when possible.
Parking will be temporarily removed along SW Corbett south of SW Sweeney, as well as within the work zone.
What to Expect During construction
- Construction will create noise, vibration and dust and may disrupt normal neighborhood activity.
- Equipment and materials may be stored on nearby streets.
- Some parking may be temporarily removed.
- A city construction inspector will be on-site and may be able to assist you with construction concerns. Inspectors typically wear a City of Portland safety vest and hard hat.
