Environmental Services continues to design a green street project along N Lagoon Avenue between N Dolphin and N Commerce to help manage stormwater runoff. The green street planter is planned for the north side of Lagoon and will help to remove suspended sediments and slow the flow of stormwater into the adjacent city storm system, which leads to the river.
Environmental Services uses green streets throughout the city to help manage stormwater and protect water quality in our rivers and streams. This project will pilot planter designs meant to manage stormwater runoff from the public right-of-way in areas with surrounding industrial uses.
Construction could begin as early as September 2016. A planter generally takes several weeks to construct, although work may take place in phases and there may be delays between phases. We will continue to provide you information as the project gets closer to construction.
