What's Happening Now in Woodlawn-King?
The Woodlawn-King project has been divided into two separate project areas: Woodlawn-King Alleys and Woodlawn-King Streets. Click here to view map of purposed work. We anticipate construction will begin on the Alleys portion early 2017, and the Streets portion will follow in the spring.
The maps below show locations where the project will require night work. Portland noise code allows construction from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The city will apply for noise variances to allow the constructor to work beyond regular house and at night.
Night work will occur in one of two ways. During curd-in-place lignin crews may need to work late to allow the large diameter liner to fully cure or dry. Once the curing process has begun, it cannot be stopped without ruining the liner. Conventional trench will be used as well. Click here for information about the various sewer construction methods.
Cured-in-place will be use on the line between N Alberta and Sumner, and will take on night. Trench will be used at all other night work locations to lessen traffic impacts.
