Environmental Services is designing a small sewer repair project on NW Industrial Street between NW 26th and 28th avenues (see map). The project will repair and upsize roughly 600 feet of deteriorating sewer pipes that are nearly 100 years old. Construction is expected in mid-late 2016.
In mid-December, crews will be drilling at several locations along the new pipe alignment to collect soil, rock and pavement samples (see map). The information will help prepare construction crews to complete the work safely and efficiently. Crews will drill holes in the pavement a few inches in diameter, and they will fill the holes immediately after they finish drilling. This work may temporarily restrict traffic and on-street parking. There may be brief periods of noise, dust and vibration during drilling. Work at each location will last several hours.
