Over the next few months, city outreach staff will be in the neighborhood talking to businesses near proposed construction locations. We will be collecting information about business operations, delivery schedules and routes, parking needs, hours of operation and more.
For your convenience, a business survey is available online; click here to complete the survey.
Over the next several months, crews will be locating utilities, surveying, inspecting sewer pipes and manholes with closed circuit TV, and drilling to take soil and pavement samples. These activities occur over time, rather than all at once, and will help engineers determine the appropriate construction method at each location.
For more information about these activities, click here.
A noise variance is required when work occurs outside normal construction hours, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday - Saturday. This includes work after 6:00 p.m. and before 7:00 a.m., and all hours on Sunday.
The design team has identified three locations where night work will be needed for this project:
- SE Cesar Chavez Boulevard between Brooklyn Street and Powell Boulevard for up to 21 nights.
- SE Franklin Street between 54th and 55th avenues for one night.
- SE Division Street at 60th Avenue for two nights and a Sunday.
Your comments regarding the proposed night work are valuable and can be submitted by U.S. mail or email to the Portland Noise Office, 1221 SW 4th Avenue, Portland, OR 97204 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Please reference "Richmond-South Tabor" and which of the three locations your comment should be applied to.
