In an effort to minimize the environmental impact of site, parishioners at the St. Philip Neri church transformed a grassy area in the corner of their parking lot into a rainwater garden. The storm drains in the parking lot are plumbed to drain into the swale. The long meandering path of the swale channel facilitates sedimentation and infiltration.
