Description of Duties: The Transportation Work Study Intern position in Street Systems serves the Street Systems, Development Review, and Permit Engineering staff in both the technical and clerical areas relating to a variety of projects.  Duties and tasks include:

  • Purge Construction Files of completed projects.   File contents are reviewed and non-essential documents are removed and discarded.
  • Prepare Files for Microfilm.   File contents are reviewed and certain key documents are identified for the permanent project record.   These key documents are assembled for microfilming.   A microfilm order is placed and the documents are shipped for microfilming.  When documents are returned, most of the file materials are discarded.
  • Various General Office Duties:  Filing, data input, mail (incoming and outgoing), Word documents including mailing list and labels, copy and sort documents.  Perform other general office maintenance.

Requirement/Skills: 

  • General office skills.
  • Ability to work productively with different departments.
  • Ability to work independently.

Work Schedule: Flexible according to your academic schedule.  Variable during business house of Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm. Prefered 10 to 15 hour commitment a week.
