Job Title: Support Systems & Asset Management Assistant

Description of Duties:

  • Testing software packages for deployment to City computers
  • Validating and uploading software to central software repository on the network
  • Assisting with software deployment tasks
  • Troubleshooting and fixing software deployments issues 
  • Notifying stakeholders of upcoming software deployment and providing status updates
  • Running software deployment progress reports
  • Software licensing research, analysis and reporting
  • Assisting with coordination, administration, and implementation of security patches
  • Creating Helpdesk tickets for coordination with other support teams
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as assigned

 Knowledge, Experience and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of basic principles and practices of computer science and information systems
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques used in software installation and troubleshooting
  • General knowledge and experience using MS Office 2003/2007
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Access 2003
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 7
  • Knowledge of Client-Server technology
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile data
  • Ability to follow established processes
  • Ability to follow oral and written communications
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a wide variety of customers clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

 Work Schedule: Regularly scheduled hours between 7:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. dependent on student’s schedule and Support Systems & Asset Management needs; 15-20 hours per week.
