Compensation: Pay will depend on experience and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $ 26.42 per hour - $36.55 per hour. Generous benefits package includes health care, vacation and sick time.
Work Schedule: 8am-5pm.

The City ofPortlandis one year into a 30 month project to develop an implement an Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Transition Plan. This plan will outline how the City will transition into compliance with theADA. In order to be effective, the Transition Plan needs to be utilized in yearly planning of projects and funding decisions, and also needs to be periodically reviewed for compliance and validity. Once developed, the Transition Plan should be viewed as a “living document” and updated regularly to reflect changes in real world conditions and to address any possible new areas of noncompliance. The ADA Access Program Specialist will be responsible for delivering the Transition Plan.
The ADA Access Program Specialist will:
Coordinate the City ofPortland Transition Planand other responsibilities to assure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities.
Be responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing the City ofPortland’s Transition Plan. This includes tracking the removal of barriers for persons with disabilities as outline filing all necessary reports, and providing consultative services to employing units and offices. Develop a self evaluation of program access for persons with disabilities at the City ofPortlandthat includes and incorporates the equity principals outlined in the Portland Plan.
