The Portland Building and City Hall named as top winners.
The City of Portland’s Portland Building and City Hall are listed as two winners in the Kilowatt Crackdown competition, sponsored by BOMA Oregon, NEEA's Better Bricks, and City of Portland, Energy Trust of Oregon, the Portland Development commission and Clark County PUD.
Facilities Services and the Bureau of Internal Business Services is proud to announce that the Portland Building was the first place Most Improved Building and City Hall was the third place Most Improved Building. The City of Portland was the only organization to win two awards.
The competition challenges buildings to reduce their energy usage and work toward a more resource efficient future. Each organization tracks the energy usage of their building through Energy Star's Portfolio Manager. There were over 60 building team finalists. City Hall and the Portland Building have competed in the competition in the past and received Energy Star certification in 2011 and in 2013.
Help me in congratulating Deborah Hyde and Wendy Gibson for their wonderful work in moving us toward a more sustainable future and laboring of the data to be able to track our usage.
