Description of Service

Self Insured Services

Required by ORS 656 and 654 to maintain self-insured status for workers’ compensation 

Vehicle and Driver SafetyServices

Required by BHR rules 3.09 and 4.13

  • City driver license checks, monitor suspensions and revocations, evaluate drivers’ motor vehicle records
  • Defensive driving classes for passenger vehicles and van drivers
  • Fleet Accident Review Board required by OAR 437-001-0760(3) and BHR 4.13
  • Driver and vehicle loss prevention consulting.

Hearing Conservation Program (HCP)

Required by ORS 654 and 29 CFR 1910.95

  • Comply with OAR 437-002-0095
  • Noise level surveys, Dosimetry sampling and loss prevention consulting
  • Contract management, administration and coordination of vendor services
  • Recordkeeping administration

Ergonomics Services

  • Citywide Office and Industrial Ergonomics Programs to prevent musculoskeletal repetitive motion injuries.
  • New employee desk measurements, chair fitting and baseline assessments  
  • Symptomatic and workers’ compensation ergonomic assessments 
  • Bureau Ergonomic Coordinator training, coordination and consulting
  • Chair and adjustable furniture contract management and administration

FM Global Property Engineering Loss Prevention Services

  • Coordinate Vendor services, program administration and electronic system management of City-owned property engineering loss prevention recommendations.
  • Inspection and report coordination with bureaus, follow up, consulting on property exposures and claims.

Workers’ Compensation Loss Prevention

  • Assist Workers' Compensation Team with Early Return to Work Options, EAIP equipment, tools, and resource selection.
  • Provide loss prevention services related to symptomatic ergonomics issues and Workers’ Compensation claim response.
  • Coordinate with Workers’ Compensation Team on job physical demand and capacity analysis.

Liability and Property Claims Loss Prevention

  • Risk Assessments for property and liability exposures.
  • Consulting, incident analysis and corrective action plans.

Industrial Hygiene Services

  • Serve as subject matter expert to Procurement Services in the administration and management of the Industrial Hygiene Services Contract.
  • Provide Industrial Hygiene related loss prevention consulting services.

Risk Management Information System (new)

  • System configuration based on resource and service needs
  • Loss report production, data analysis, charting and trending
