City Risk

  • Develop, implement, manage, and maintain the City-wide OR-OSHA Compliance Inspections & Consultation Program

  • Serve as central contact between City of Portland and OR-OSHA

  • Collect, compile, analyze and monitor OR-OSHA interaction with City Bureaus

  • Develop, analyze and disseminate reports of citywide OR-OSHA activity in a timely manner

  • Assist bureaus through OR-OSHA activity upon request or when the activity is deemed to have potential citywide applicability

  • Assist bureaus with correcting hazards and program deficiencies identified by OR-OSHA compliance inspections and consultations

  • Notify City Risk Loss Prevention as soon as possible by telephone or e-mail  any communication is received from OR-OSHA

  • Send to City Risk copies by e-mail, mail or hand delivery all of OR OSHA and bureau correspondence received

  • Provide OR-OSHA requested documentation for the inspection
  • Partner with City Risk on loss prevention efforts

  • Archival of all written documentation received from OR-OSHA and given to OR-OSHA for the inspection

Citywide Communication

City Risk 

  • Distribute City-wide communications from OR-OSHA that are not confidential and are applicable to ensure safety of employees from similar exposures or events identified in the OR-OSHA communications 

Employee Communication

City Bureaus, Offices, Divisions & Departments

  • Notify Employees of OR-OSHA written communications and the duration of posting required by Occupational Safety & Health regulations

  • Archive all copies of OR-OSHA and City communications for a minimum of 10 years or for the duration required by specific Occupational Safety & Health regulations
