On June 15, 2016, City Council adopted Portland’s 2035 Comprehensive Plan. The new plan’s goals, policies, maps and project lists provide direction for City decisions on land use, transportation, parks, sewer and water systems, natural resources and other topics as the city grows and develops. The plan will help the city prepare for and manage expected population and employment growth over the next 20 years, consistent with the vision and policies of the Portland Plan, which call for a prosperous, educated, healthy and equitable city.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, in partnership with the Oregon Chapter of the American Planning Association, hosted the Portland Is Growing Film Festival at McMenamins Kennedy School.
