City bureaus develop their individual requested budgets annually based on guidance from City Council and specific instructions from the City Budget Office. Bureaus submit their budgets early each calendar year followed by Council worksessions and public forums before the Mayor proposes his budget, typically in April. City Council adopts the final City budget in June.
