Portland’s Central City has some of the most iconic views in the region. As part of the Central City 2035 (CC2035) project, the Central City Scenic Resources Inventory (CCSRI) is the first step in a process to update tools that protect and maintain these significant scenic resources.
The CCSRI provides useful and accessible information on the location and quality of existing public scenic resources. It includes descriptions, evaluations, photographs and maps of public views and viewpoints, scenic corridors, view streets, visual focal points and scenic sites in the Central City. The CCSRI itself does not make recommendations about which scenic resources should be protected; rather, it will inform the CC2035 Plan. The public will be able to review and comment on the draft CC2035 Plan, including the draft scenic resources protection plan, when the CC2035 Plan is released (currently scheduled for early 2016).
